What is a Cleaning Cycle and how do I start it?Updated a month ago
The Cleaning Cycle uses Cumulus cleaning solution to remove internal build-up, keeping your machine in optimal condition.
To run a Cleaning Cycle, follow these steps:
- Place a cleaning capsule or empty capsule into the capsule holder.
- Remove and empty the water tank, then place the tank (or a household container which can hold more than 32 oz.) under the nozzle.
- Rotate the dial to "Still" and hold the brew button for 7 seconds to initiate the Purge Mode.
- Once the purge has finished, empty the water tank.
- Pour 4 oz (half of the bottle) of cleaning solution into the tank, and fill it the rest of the way with fresh water.
- Place the tank back into the machine, and place a household container under the nozzle.
- The machine will pump the water in the tank, then start to chill.
- Rotate the dial to "Nitro" and hold the brew button for 7 seconds to initiate cleaning mode. You do not need to wait for machine to finish cooling the water before initiating the cleaning cycle.
- The machine will dispense all water in the machine (similar to a Purge Mode).
- When this is finished, indicator lights will turn off and the brew light will flash white. The capsule holder will remain locked. Empty your household container.
- Fill the water tank with fresh water and place it back in the machine. Press (but do not hold) the brew button to begin drawing water into the machine.
- Place the household container back under the nozzle.
- Once water has been drawn from the water tank, the machine will dispense all the water again.
- Repeat steps 10-13 twice more.
- Once finished, press and hold the brew button again for 7 seconds to exit Cleaning Mode. At this point, the capsule carrier should release.
